The refugio sells some food and has potable water.

The following is some of what is offered at the refugio:

  • Fresh baked bread, white and whole wheat.
  • Sandwiches.
  • Home-made pizza.
  • Meals.
  • Drinks.
  • When hiking, water is abundant almost anywhere from the many streams. Most people don't bother filtering water that comes from Río La Junta or other smaller rivers that are principally fed by snow melt.

The closest place to buy supplies outside of the valley is in the town of Cochamó. The town provides basic necessities at a few small stores and restaurants. You can find larger choice and less expensive foods and other supplies in Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas.
